Semapa's Making it Better Week 2024

For the second consecutive year, Semapa Group celebrated Making it Better Week, an internal event that reinforces the company’s commitment to its purpose of creating a positive impact on people, communities, and the planet.

From September 23 to 27, more than seven thousand employees from various areas and geographies united around three strategic pillars that support the group’s growth and actions: Investment, Innovation, and Inclusion.

In the video message broadcast to all employees, Ricardo Pires, CEO of Semapa Group, stated that “these three pillars are essential to our growth with impact and, together, have the power to create renewed cycles of development.”

Ricardo Pires exemplified how the three pillars are always present in the Group’s companies’ activities and contribute to the valorisation of internal talent and the creation of sustainable value for the future. The first pillar, Investment, has been a priority for Semapa, evident in The Navigator’s recent acquisitions. Regarding Innovation, the second pillar, Ricardo Pires emphasizes that “it is the spark that drives progress in our companies and enables them to reach new levels,” as evidenced by many ongoing projects, such as the recently awarded ETSA ProHy.

In the Inclusion pillar, Semapa is committed to attracting and enhancing diversity and creating an increasingly inclusive and equitable culture. During Making it Better Week, these objectives were reiterated through a commitment signed by all Group CEOs. This declaration is based on seven principles: Sense of belonging; Non-discrimination; Freedom of thought; Gender equality at various leadership levels; Gender equity; Intergenerationality.

Week of activities

During the week, various activities were carried out, including visits by the Executive Management and Semapa team to several Innovation projects of the participating companies, and the promotion of an Investment Lab aimed at explaining the analysis cycle of an investment. There was also an online Semapa Talk on how to optimize personal performance and an interactive meeting between Semapa’s CEO and the Group employees’ children, where the children had the opportunity to ask Ricardo Pires questions.

At the end of the week, “Making it Better” conference took place at the Orient Museum, broadcast live to all employees, dedicated to the theme of Inclusion. The conference was led by Patrícia Villas-Boas, People and Sustainability Director of Triangle’s, and featured several guests who shared experiences that reinforce the importance of diversity and inclusion in strengthening company culture and as a factor leading to better financial results.

The last day of Making it Better celebration was marked by a solidarity walk aimed at raising funds for Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso Foundation.

The second edition of Making it Better Week allowed for joint reflection on Semapa Group’s Purpose and strategic pillars and was an excellent opportunity to strengthen and reinforce bonds among employees.
